IS FRAZZLED GOOD?

I’ve decided that ….One person’s capacity is not another person’s capacity. There is only so much time in the day, & my good hubbie thinks that you need to fill every inch of it!!! I’ve always considered myself a Martha. (You know the story of Mary & Martha. ) Martha is the “hostess with the mostest,” while Mary sits at the feet of Jesus & takes it all in. Yes….I’m definitely a Martha. Maybe that’s not good, but we need Martha’s in this world or nothing would get done!!!! If I’m a Martha, then what do you call a man who never sits???
A MANTHA!
Well…….maybe I’m a Martha, and a “wannabe Mary!”

I read a funny article the other day by Kristine Frederickson of LDS World. The article talked about “Do it All Women!”
Do we……….or should we have:
*
An immaculate yard devoid of weeds, the lawn freshly mowed and trimmed, flowers abloom aplenty, a garden overflowing with fruits and vegetables, and walkways swept and hosed. Fresh baked bread cooling on the kitchen counter top beside the wheat grinder, below the hand-stitched needlepoint, Remember: “There is beauty all around when there’s love at home.” The floors sparkle. The toilets shine. You can clearly see your reflection in the windows. The carpets are newly shampooed and spotless, as are the couches. Pillows grace each and every chair and settee and your children are lined up in Sunday best with bright, scrubbed faces and coiffed, manicured hair… courtesy of mother who is a real whiz with the clippers. The garage could be mistaken for the living room, and the little woman of the home wears the dress designed and crafted by her own hand covered with her own hand-made tatted apron. Mother may be glassy-eyed from nonstop work, getting up early that morning for her 5-mile-run followed by a round of Pilates, no sleep and short-term memory loss (a consequence of too little sleep), but she graciously greets her guest. After seating him, she rushes to set the table with the best silver and china and adorns the table with her freshly cut, tastefully arranged bouquet.
*
She then had some great suggestions to make a shift:
*
See those few weeds in your yard and try to think of them as lovely additions to your garden. Eat a grapefruit for breakfast and not an ice cream bar — save that for after lunch. Visit someones immaculate home and think, “how nice, for them.” Watch someone else’s child play a piano concerto and think lovingly of how clean your son’s ceiling was the last time you were in his room. Don’t make, I repeat, don’t make lasagna from scratch. Buy it at the grocery store, put it in the oven, and then spread a blanket on the grass and read a book.Do we need to be engaged in good causes? Yes. Do we need to be superwomen? Only if we have a physical, mental or spiritual DEATH WISH!

TODAY I HAVE: made breakfast, cleaned my kitchen, dusted, vacuumed, cleaned mirrors, changed sheets on 3 beds, made a fabulous early dinner, mowed the lawn, 2 batches of laundry, made banana bread, pulled some weeds…………and now I’m tired!!!

My hubbie has been outside since about 5:00 AM this morning, digging trenches on another acre of ground, running pipe, setting sprinkler heads, digging, digging some more, raking, skid steering, helped a neighbor with a plugged well……….etc, etc, etc! He only stopped long enough to shove dinner down. (I really don’t think he even tasted it) I should have given him a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich!

I GET A LOT ACCOMPLISHED WHEN HE IS HOME FOR THE ENTIRE DAY. HEAVEN FORBID… HE SEES ME SIT DOWN………..CUZ HE NEVER DOES!!!!
He is 57 years old, and hasn’t slowed one bit since he was 20. I’m 48, & can’t keep up with him. What’s my problem? Maybe he will SIT in his 60’s!
*
Today I’ve decided that……….sometimes “less is more.”
*
However, I’m not complaining.
I just have nothing else to BLOG about!
I’m thankful for a husband who has always worked hard!
