A NUT FOR A NUT!

O.k……so I really like nuts. I always feel guilty when I’m eating nuts. Almonds, are often talked about as a great source of fiber…& so good for you. How often though, do you hear that said about pistachios? Well….as I am consuming several today, I am also dripping with calorie guilt! For all you pistachio lovers out there……..Listen up! Here is what I found out:

Pistachios
High in Vitamin B6 – 20% of the daily recommended value!
Contains more antioxidants than one cup of green tea
Pistachios are a low calorie, low fat, high fiber nut
One cup of pistachios contains as much calcium as a cup of milk.
The same goes for almonds.
Fun Fact: All pistachios are tan, but imported ones are usually dyed red,
and some domestic varieties are bleached white.

SO……THERE YOU HAVE IT!

My reasoning for why I can now eat pistachios, & not feel guilty:
*I don’t like Milk, so this might be the only way to get my Calcium!
