So Prepare . . . React Innocently . . . Nethertheless  Grow

I really wanted to see if my camera could focus, on anything but pictures of food.

I found new life.

My eyes watered the entire time!

Ahhhh spring.

This large tree is dead . . . but new life is found there!

Do you know what the above pic is?  It is a Christmas plant that is still blooming after 2 years!

and finally . . .

Some people are happy wherever they find themselves.

SPRING . . .

simple, poised, renewed, intense, nutured, grace

Jonna – LOVE all your photos and thoughts! Your blurry tree-photo is very cool. Did you zoom in while taking the photo! Nice job. KEEP UP THE POSTING – your posterity THANKS YOU for it!!!!! Plus, I love reading and looking!!!

BrandiApril 20, 2010 - 7:40 PM

Those pictures are just incredible. I LOVE the one of the tree with the blur. So neat. Hopefully Spring has sprung for real this time and it isn’t just teasing us again.

I wonder why this blog doesn’t update on my blog roll…I think that is really weird!

Jonna-ology.

I realize that naming this section of my site, GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND WRITE . . . has simply failed me . In fact, a few people that shall remain nameless (Berta ) have reminded me tactfully of this fact.  I think I’m grateful for a life too boring to write about!  Days back, weeks ago . . .well at least a year ago, I was tagged.  It’s genealogy people, and I dismissed it and played too busy to respond.  I’ve not been tagged since.  It’s my procrastination punishment.  This was it, genealogy that must be recorded and written down for future lineage of Jonna.  Poor souls . . .

Jonna – ology

1. I try everyday to eliminate sugar from my diet.  Every day has been a head hung failure.

2. I’m at peace when I’m home. I don’t like crowds. In fact, I’d rather not leave the house at all.

3. I’m 9 years younger than my sweet husband.  This is good – he can never call me OLD!

4. I have a nervous habit…I can’t stop wiggling and tensing my toes. I also realize how weird that must sound. By evening, I feel like I have shin splints up my legs, and NO…..this does NOT stem from my childhood.

5. I love a clean house, and clutter makes my skin crawl. I’d rather clean toilets than do yard work.  Feel free to use my toilets, cuz they are clean.

6. I play the piano, and taught lessons for years, taught dance and I also owned a hair and nail Salon. You’d never guess that by looking at my own pathetic hair and nails.  (I must do something with my heels as well . . . crap . . . spring has sprung.

7. I own leathers, and ride on the back of a Harley! Nope, never thought I’d do that in a million years, but enjoy it. We’ve gone on many 10 day trips at a time. It’s a little hard on the backside. I hate the helmet . . . after a 10 day trip my hair has been virtually rubbed off!

8.  I’m almost fifty!  (that is half way to one hundred)  One day I will tell you the Good the bad the ugly.

9.  I’d rather buy a new lawn mower than go to Hawaii . . .sad but true.

10.  I’ve been married almost 31 years, to the same man.  He thinks he can read my mind.  He can . . . I hate that!  Love him still.

Thank you for sharing. I linked over from your food site. It’s fun to learn a little about the person who makes me hungry all the time.

Mom you are just hilarious! I loved reading that so much. Some of them I could have pinpointed, and some threw me for a loop. I love how you added humor to most of them…and then it made me emotional when it asked you what you looked forward to. I hope Grandpa is feeling better as!!! I will try and do this asap. I wish that you would do more posts like this. I love reading your answers. I just think your amazing! Maybe for your 31 anniversary, dad will let you get a new lawn mower. I think you need to do a post about the little Honda. That would be something hilarious for everyone to read! I love you mom!

LynnMarch 23, 2010 - 5:35 PM

LOL! You are a hoot! Loved this!!!!

I just about peed my pants when I read this:

“How many pairs of flip flops do you own? 2 pair – That reminds me . . . a couple of weeks ago, the prayer giver in Sac. mtg., flip flopped her way clear up to the podium. It was flipping annoying! ”

YAY! Someone else who thinks the same as me about the inappropriateness of flip flops at church! ; D

WE have so much in common. Thanks for this.

Oh boo. Now I’m tagged got I read all the way to the bottom. ; S

I will post soon.

WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT.

OH CRAP!
The power is off.  Puter dies.
Head for the garage, where your better half  lives most of the time.
“Honey . . . did you do that?”
Better half laughs – laughs some more – rolls the eyes.
Shut garage door.  Swear he has something to do with power outage!
Funny . . . how the world seems to STOP, when the power goes out.
Couldn’t read blogs, or write blogs.
Couldn’t iron white shirt or skirt for tomorrow.
Couldn’t cook or bake or microwave.
Couldn’t sit by a fire.
Hubbie reminds me that ….. It’s my fault, since I made him move from our home that had a Wood fireplace!

CRAP!  CRAP again.
Grab a book – no.
Change 150 clocks in the house – Spring forward sucks!
Play the piano – yes.  My Piano never fails me!
Play the piano for two straight hours while power is out.
Play loud and hard . . . annoy hubbie, whom you believe made the power go out!

This isn’t me.
It’s Addisyn.
I started playing piano when I was five . . . she’s three.
When the power goes out, I’m very thankful for my piano.
I’m thankful for a Mom who made me practice.
I’m thankful for a Dad who paid for those lessons.
I’m thankful for a piano teacher who stuck with me for 13 years.

I’m thankful that the power just came back on . . . 2 1/2 hours later.

I betcha you’re thankful this post is over.
note:  please re-subscribe to this site, in the menu bar at the top.
I had to re-configure the darn thing!

WOULD YOU PLEASSSSSSSSSSE GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND WRITE MORE?????!!!!! . . . I mean, is that asking too much! . . . well if you’re baking me some cookies, I’ll totally understand!

BrandiMarch 16, 2010 - 7:30 PM

Why did you blame dad??? Thats so funny!!!
Jessicas Kayden is getting baptised this saturday, and he called and asked me to play the songs for his program. I more then happily abliged to do this. IT WAS SO NICE to HAVE to sit at my piano and play. I LOVE it so muchm but when I do I have 20 extra fingers clunking at the keys…it really takes the fun away. IF ONLY…I had practiced like you asked, and IF ONLY I hadn’t challenged you tooth and nail everytime we had to practice. IF ONLY…but I am so grateful that I can sit down and play the little that I can, I just wish it wasn’t so little. I LOVE to listen to you play. It makes me feel so good inside. I just admire your ability to still challenge yourself, although I really don’t think there is anything you can’t play. I hope that my 3 like the piano, and stick with it. I love that picture of Addi…she looks like a natural sitting at that baby grand. But, I do have to say that she is only still 2…soon enough though, she will be 3!

BertaMarch 16, 2010 - 10:17 AM

SO FUNNY – not the power going out – but, I never thought of blaming hubby – I’ll have to remember that. SWEET POST! Beautiful photo AND YES, I’d love to listen to you play the piano for two hours AND blame hubby!!!!!

WELCOME to Get Off Your Butt and WRITE.

The fact that I’m now posting to “Get Off Your Butt and WRITE” . . . almost seems like a miracle to me.  I know, it’s just a blog, but moving files from Blogger to WordPress.Org is a daunting process, for someone who knows absolutely NOTHING about hosting your own website!

I’ve learned some big lessons over the weekend.   Here’s a run down of happenings . . . and deleted happenings!

  • Out of Blogger picture space . . . uggg  What to do, What to do?
  • Make a change for the better.  Dig right in.
  • It’s not exactly an easy process to switch to another Blog Platform.  It takes some learning first.
  • WordPress. Com and WordPress.Org are NOT the same thing.
  • If you would like to know the difference, CONTACT ME.
  • I am using WordPress.Org.
  • You must find a host – Bluehost is a wonderful host . . . they saved me from Total Blog deletion . . . no kidding here!
  • Once you register your own Domain name, you must install software . . . or it’s empty.
  • Find the right Software you need to use.
  • Still not done . . . install your Template.
  • Try to find your way around your new home.
  • Import Blog from Blogger to new home. Yikes.
  • Frustration, Patience Jonna.
  • You are not to OLD to learn new things.
  • Yes you are . . . NO you are not!
  • Up and running, and feeling a little cocky here.
  • Move your other Blog – “Chocolate” to a new domain.
  • New Domain name though – “Get Off Your Butt and WRITE.
  • Download software – new template.  Back to Bluehost to confirm.
  • Accidentally hit wrong button, and DELETE entire:  Get Off Your Butt and BAKE! website.
  • Yes I did.
  • Blood drains from entire body, sick, sick, sick . . . sick some more.
  • Think Jonna think.  When all else fails call Bluehost.  Explain how dumb you are.

Bluehost comes to my rescue . . . they didn’t even make me feel like a newbie . . . EXCELLENT TECHNICAL SUPPORT!

I should be cleaning right now, and will be in just a few more minutes.  I changed my personal blog name, cuz it goes along with my baking theme. It’s simply a good reminder for me to Journal more, and take note of daily happenings.  I hope you come back often, as I intend to be a bit more prompt posting on this Get Off Your Butt and WRITE site!

Remember that I’m easy to find:  http://justgetoffyourbuttandbake.com  and now  http://justgetoffyourbuttandwrite.com

I’ll be back after I clean my house….ugg
